Position Preview

As free agency slows down for the Glory and Coach Rodriquez's squad slowly takes shape, we take time to bring to you, a position by position break down of the entire team. Once a week we will give you a different position bringing you to the beginning of the season next spring.

Running Backs/Fullbacks

Marion Barber, Joe Hall, Cedric Humes, Brandon Miree, Renaldo Works

This unit saw the least amount of yards in a season under the current management. Jarrett Payton was cut in October and there will be a new #1 next season."This unit needed some changes and it all starts with the feature back." Marion Barber did very well as the backup to Renaldo Works last season, but the team has realized is Works is a third down back at best. Barber will be the guy getting the majority of the carries in 2007 and new head coach Rich Rodriguez couldn't be happier.

"This man is a monster. He has very good speed for being a big back. This man looks like he could be the future of this franchise and I look forward to him being a part of the team when I arrive in January."

Some may ask if this unit struggled so much then how come more new faces aren't part of this unit? "We felt that Marion was the back we are looking for and Renaldo is effective when you put the ball in his hands but is not a #1 back in our eyes." With that, we look at the new face of this unit, Brandon Miree. "He brings another dimension to our offense. He is a big man with quick feet and is very good at blocking. We look at him as both a runningback and a fullback."
